Recomendo vivamente. Obrigado Diogo pelo teu cuidado e atenção

Tive uma excelente experiência no curso Sand Express do Diogo e do Zé! Nunca desiludem !

We had an awesome training day with Diogo followed by two days riding guided tours with him! He is exceptional in the way he explain things and his tracks were super nice to ride with a wide range of different sections depending on your skill and desire! His Friend Bruno is also super nice and has always the right sense of humor 😄 Definitly worth coming back for a second trip!

We came as absolute beginners (license 1 week old) and left as capable off road bikers. Diogo is very friendly and skilled and taught us all we needed to know to start our off road adventures. Also his friend Bruno who accompanies the tours is very funny, friendly and also eager to improve anyones skills! Overall a great experience!

What can I say? If you are looking for 3 days of expert, friendly tuition and adventure on challenging terrain with great scenery then look no further. Diogo and Bruno were so organised that not a moment was wasted. The company (new friends), in my case, was fantastic. Just do it!

May 2026 Soooooo....a little back story....I've been riding on road for almost 40 years...and last year I thought..... wouldn't it be fun to ride in Europe (I live in Montreal). While planning “riding in Europe”, I went out and bought a 450cc Adventure bike. After half a dozen off road rides later (mostly gravel and minimal tricky stuff) plans changed......from on road to off road in Europe (but where?). Hitting the web I found tons of (guided/self-guided) on road tour companies…very few off road options. Then I came across OffRoad-OffCourse in Portugal. Digging a little deeper – Portugal is renowned for thousands of (all difficulty levels) accessible off road “roads”. Villages, hotels, restaurants (and HELP if needed) are a stone throw away from where you would be riding…..[Destination: tick checkbox] … But what about OffRoad-OffCourse? Let’s see: reviews are solid, complimentary, positive and all were five stars…..[Client Opinions: tick checkbox] …. How about the bikes: Honda CRF300L (everyone says it’s a great bike to learn on) & KTM 390 Enduro R (for those with more skill)….of course this is my (web-fed) humble opinion…FYI…I chose the Honda (be honest with yourself)….[Tools: tick checkbox]……. What about the Owner/Guide/Instructor and “employee of the month on his Youtube channel”? Ah….[Personality: tick checkbox] … Got to be honest here….Diogo is “kinda” dorky on his Youtube channel … lolol…… he also happened to be our guide…… In person Diogo is: calm, cool, solution (not issue) oriented, communicative, excellent instructor, excellent rider, great guide (host), a good listener, fun conversationalist… just an all-around good person with skills that he can impart on many an off-road rider (experienced or wanna-be)…… In all sincerity, if you are looking to challenge yourself, explore new horizons, improve your skills, or simply change your usual surrounds… investing in a 3 or 5 day guided tour with OffRoad-OffRoad will definitely be rewarding. Happy Days…… Ivica Mic (Montreal QC Canada) Ps….Many thanks Diogo

Tour presentation:

Welcome to the “Learn & Ride” tour – Join me (Diogo Guerra: Self proclaimed instructor extraordinaire and National treasure) and a small group of riders to learn and train the most must-have off-roading skills, tackle the most common obstacles and make new riding buddies while we traverse the beautiful and diverse landscapes of Portugal…a perfect mix of learning and leisure!

Day 0 : Arrival

We believe that the best friendships are forged at the table, so this tour starts off with a welcome dinner (and that first night in the hotel), so you should arrive to arrive in Santarém the day before the event.

In my FAQ page you can get instructions on how to get here coming from Lisbon.

It will be a great opportunity for all of us to get to know each other and to savour some typical Portuguese delicacies as we talk about the details of the upcoming tour.

Day 1 : The training day

We’ll spend the day training essential skills like understanding traction, body positioning, emergency stops, hill climbing (and descending), etc. Everything we will need to make the best out of the upcoming tour. Note: We will always adapt the difficulty and complexity of the exercises to the level and bikes of the participants, so you will certainly learn lots!

At the end of the day we return to Santarém for another dinner together and a good night’s rest

Day 2 : Ease into the trails (~140 Km)

Today we will ride East, and in less than 10km we will hitting the off-road trails, riding in forests and the zig-zaggy golden trails of Alentejo along endless cork trees. We will probably cross paths with free roaming cows, sheep, goats, iberian pigs and even bulls… so keep your eyes open!

Lunch will happen in a little village near Montargil, (a famous destination for sunday off-road riders) and in the afternoon the tracks will be slightly more challenging (and you will be ready for them, I am sure!).

At the end of the day we will be back to Santarém (no scheduled evening plans)

Day 3: Final challenge (~160 Km)

On the 3rd day we will have a slightly more challenging track; a perfect opportunity to test your new skills and to ride in even more scenic and adventurous routes. We will choose one of 3 possible tracks according to the weather forecast and the group disposition;

  • The mountains of Serra de Aire;
  • The forests north of Santarem, towards Constancia;
  • The mountain of Montejunto

Either way we choose, we are sure you will have the ride of your life!

At the end of the day ride back in Santarém where sadly, the tour will be over. Its possible to to book an extra night if you intend to stay in Santarem, or you can have a shower back at my place if you plan on heading out right after the tour.
